MARDI 17 AVRIL 2007 - IRSC trip: day 1! Edinburgh!PHOTOS: part (1) / part (2) / part (3) / part (4) / part (5) / part (6)

Avant le départ: Amandine, une de mes amies de lycée (eh oui, ça remonte à loin ;o), n'est-ce pas Amandine?) est arrivée la veille à Liverpool, nous avons fait un petit tour de la ville. Tout ça pour dire que nous ne nous sommes pas vraiment reposées avant de partir pour ce trip de 5 jours en Ecosse et en Irlande... ;o)

Départ de Lime Street à 8:28... C'est quand même tôt :o)
Dans le train: Amandine, Robin, Ioannis, Luigi et moi. :o) C'est parti pour environ 4 heures de train, avec un petit changement à Wigan North Western.
Après 4h de train donc, nous voilà arrivés en terre écossaise, en plein coeur de sa capitale: Edimbourg! Et pour ce qui est de la page météo, le temps était magnifique! :o)
Nous nous sommes baladés un peu dans la ville avant de se poser dans un parc: Princes Street Gardens.
Pendant que les autres étaient posés dans l'herbe, je suis allée faire un tour (rapide) à la National Galleries of Scotland.

We left Liverpool at 8:28am, quite early indeed. :o) In this train with me, there were Amandine, Ioannis, Robin and Luigi. After about 4 hours, we arrived in Edinburgh. We walked a bit in the city before stopping in the Princes Street Gardens. I went to have a quick look at the National Galleries of Scotland and i came back to the gardens to lay in the grass with the others. :o)

This is Scotland!! ;o)Ensuite, nous avons quitté le parc et sommes partis en direction de Calton Hill. Sur le chemin, nous avons "visité" un cimetière...
Nos 5 autres compagnons de voyage pour ce trip en Ecosse (Nina, Mick, Inga, Jitka & Mato) étant arrivés, nous avons fait demi-tour pour aller les rejoindre à l'hostel. Du coup, je ne suis pas allée à Calton Hill finalement...

Après un petit tour à l'hostel, nous nous sommes dirigés vers Arthur's seat, un volcan éteint (heureusement...). Nous avons marché un bon moment afin d'admirer la vue de la ville et de la mer qui s'offrait à nous de cette colline.
After, we went to Arthur's seat. I really enjoyed the view so i wanted to climb on the top. Amandine, Ioannis, Nina, Mato and Luigi came with me. ;o)

Nina & JitkaCertains d'entre nous sont ensuite allés tout en haut du volcan. Etaient du voyage: moi bien sûr (c'était mon idée...), Amandine, Luigi, Nina, Ioannis et Mato.

Three girls at the top ;o)En cours de route, j'ai eu une autre brillante idée... pourquoi ne pas rester en haut de la colline pour admirer le coucher de soleil? Ben oui, pourquoi pas! Les vaillants grimpeurs qui sont restés avec moi pour ce coucher de soleil étaient Amandine, Nina et Luigi. :o)
After this climbing experience, i got another idea : why don't we wait for the sunset here? And, well... this time... only Nina, Luigi and Amandine stayed with me... But without regrets i hope, because i really enjoyed this beautiful sunset!

Après ce magnifique coucher de soleil, nous avons rejoint les autres à l'hostel.
Ainsi se finissait notre première journée en Ecosse. :o)
After we took several pictures of this nice landscape, we came back to the hostel.
It was our first day in Scotland. :o)
